"We needed a system that could handle our three ISO standards and help us manage our teams more effectively. Managing all of that through Teams was simply not a sustainable solution for growth," explains Egeland.

Finding the right fit 

Blu Electro evaluated 6-7 different quality management systems before finding the perfect match in RamBase Quality Management System (QMS). Some systems were too small, others too complex to use, but RamBase QMS had the right combination of functionality and ease of use. Egeland noted:

"RamBase struck the right balance in terms of functionality, and their local presence was a big plus. It was important for us to speak the same language," explains Egeland

Their confidence was further reinforced by knowing that major industry players like Hydro and Eramet were also using RamBase QMS.

"We knew we were choosing a solid foundation for the future," states Egeland.

Game-changer: Management-for-hire

As with any new system, Blu Electro initially struggled to make full use of the solution. Despite its capabilities, the day-to-day demands of running a company left little time to fully embrace the platform. Realizing this, they reached out to RamBase for support.

"We realized during a management meeting that the system wasn't being used effectively. We hadn’t given ourselves the time to learn it, and finding the right people to manage it," explains Egeland.

That’s when RamBase provided a unique solution: a manager-for-hire option. Theoline Undheim, a HSEQ consultant within the RamBase Consultancy service, was brought on board for two days a week to help Blu Electro reassess their processes and optimize their use of the system.

"She came in with a different set of eyes and made us step back and reflect on how we do things," says Egeland.

With Theoline’s guidance, Blu Electro shifted from being impressed with the system to fully integrating it into their daily operations.

"We went from 'wow' to 'yes!' We were impressed with the system from the start, but we needed that extra help to really kickstart our usage," explains Egeland.
