When quality matters the most: Rydverken’s ERP journey

Rydverken is a precision machining company unlike most. Founded in 1970 in Småland, Sweden, their 30-person team consists of carefully selected specialists who build high-quality, complex tools and components for some of the world’s most demanding industries — including defense, aerospace and nuclear power. Their work is largely invisible to the public, but essential to customers who cannot afford failure.

Despite operating in these high-stakes environments, Rydverken has always maintained a deliberately low profile. They don’t attend trade shows or invest in advertising; instead, they rely on the reputation they’ve built over decades. New customers seek them out because of the consistently high quality they deliver and the trust they have earned with industries that value precision, consistency and discretion.

Built on precision and responsibility

Quality at Rydverken is not a slogan — it is something they live by. Even a deviation of a hundredth of a millimeter outside tolerance requires immediate action. Every part must be traceable, every step documented, and every operator shares ownership of the end result. This commitment is why critical industries trust Rydverken with highly specialized work, Site Manager Jesper Jarnehäll explains.

“We create lots of internal deviations at Rydverken, Meanwhile, we’re proud to say that very few deviations ever reach customers.”

Rydverken’s uncompromising focus on quality also shaped their expectations for the systems supporting their work. For decades, they relied on an Access-based solution - until growing requirements for documentation, traceability, and financial insight began to expose its limitations.  Information was split across systems and complex orders were recorded as one job, making progress impossible to follow at part level.

“We knew how many hours we’d used, but not which of the 100 parts were finished. In the long run, that’s not very sustainable,” says Jarnehäll.

Technical issues increased, and continuing to grow without modern tools became a risk to quality itself.

Choosing RamBase & Ariser — a decision based on trust

Rydverken evaluated several ERP vendors, but the final decision was driven by confidence in the people behind RamBase and implementation partner Ariser.

“For us, it was crucial to choose a system that could handle both today’s and tomorrow’s challenges. RamBase gives us that flexibility — but the final decision really landed on the individuals we met from both Ariser and RamBase,” Jarnehäll says.

With RamBase, production is now structured differently. Instead of managing large orders as one job, each part has its own production order, giving full visibility into status, time usage and completion.

What first seemed very cumbersome turned out to be a game-changer for the company, Jarnehäll explains, as they now have significantly better control over production than ever before.

Quality handling and deviations has been transformed as well. What used to rely on manual processes is now integrated directly in the system, giving operators ownership and transparency.

“All operators can create deviations, assign tasks, attach documentation and close them with customers,” Jarnehäll says. “It works fantastically and is completely superior to what we had before.”

A deliberate and stable implementation

Rydverken went live in May 2025 with a step-by-step implementation approach that prioritized stability and learning rather than speed.

“The system just needs to be there and be stable. We can’t keep introducing new things while expecting operators to keep up,” says Jarnehäll.

With strong market growth within defense, aerospace and nuclear power, the future looks promising. But the company’s expansion will remain deliberate — prioritizing the retention and development of their skilled workforce.

As they continue adopting RamBase functionality, the goal remains clear: a reliable system operating quietly in the background, while Rydverken continues delivering precision tools and complex solutions to industries where there is no room for error.
