Pre-production, production tasks and Manufacturing Record Book
This is a pre-read for the "Pre-Production, Production tasks and Manufacturing Record Book" session at the Summit 2024.
This session covers two distinct topics. The task system is enhanced and streamlined for completion of tasks involved in preparing and executing a production process, while new features for creation of manufacturing record books (MRB) is implemented for documenting specific requirements from the manufacturing process.
To get the most out of this parallel session we encourage you to read through and reflect how the applications below impact your business, make sure to note down your talking points to bring to the Summit discussion.
The task system
The task system is universally available throughout RamBase. There are numerous use cases, only limited by the imagination. Now, we have expanded the task system by introducing pre-production and production tasks.
In the process template application (PTM) a set of production tasks can be set up to be verified and cleared before the work order operations can start. This process can be set to be automatically triggered by an operation in the production task trigger application (PTT). Production tasks can also be added manually to a work order operation if required. Templates for tasks can be made for easy access in the task template application. The same list of production tasks and check lists will apply both when created automatically and manually.
Pre-production tasks can be created from a sales order or sales order item and associated to any level in the product structure and managed in the pre-production task application (PPTASKS). Task and task processes related to production processes can easily be reviewed and accessed through extensive sorting and filtering features in the task applications (TASK), and task processes application (TSP).

Manufacturing Record Book
Manufacturing record book features provides the capability to collect records documenting the details of manufacturing with approval of documents and traceability information.
The Manufacturing record book (MRB) application is an easy to use, overview application ensuring that all document requirements are met, and allows the user to efficiently take advantage of the foundation laid in the daily documentation process of manufacturers with high quality requirements.
The Manufacturing record book (MRB) uses documents gathered from both external and internal sources based on requirements from the customer and combines them into one book in PDF format.
The book is put together using a detailed specification-template defined by customers and their demands for final product documentation.
This detailed specification-template is effortlessly built in the Manufacturing record book templates application (MRBTEMPLATES) where the user can even add template files to be inserted wherever.
Document Approval
The new Document Approval application (DAP) is a case handling tool for uploaded files that require approval. Preview the file, review checklist items, designate approvers, and approve or reject the file.
It has extensive filtering functionality, allowing users to easily get an overview of uploaded files and locate relevant ones. Examples of standard filters include My assigned approvals and Files pending approval.
It is seamlessly integrated into the process of documenting requirements and actions done in the application are mirrored in the Manufacturing record book application (MRB).
File Types Application
The new File types application (FIT) offers companies the ability to establish standardized file types for selection during the file upload process.
The application provides an array of customization options. For instance, it allows setting standard internal file name patterns to maintain file naming coherence without altering the original file names. Additionally, through permissions, administrators can easily manage who gains access to files tagged with a specific file type.
The application supports marking externally owned uploaded files and customizing the approval requirements for files tagged with specific file types. It is also possible to specify mandatory files for upload and specify if these should be included in a Manufacturing record book. The File types application (FIT) has plenty of additional customization options. The setup in the File type (FIT) application is connected to the Document approval application (DAP), where uploaded files are inspected and approved.
Take a detailed look at the applications in the guided tour of the possibilities in this video.
