13.00-13.45
Kristian Aass | Hans-Morten Daae

This is a pre-read for the "Projects and Services" session at the Summit 2024.

Efficient management of job orders as well as delivery project overview enhancing cost- and progress control might be critical components for success. Are your services a blend of expenses, hours, and materials? Alternatively, do you specialize in selling products with extended production timelines, necessitating recurrent progress reporting?

Join us as we are providing clarity on when to use POD and PRO in RamBase. In the context of this, we look forward to receiving input for the further development of these solutions and the prioritization among them.

To get the most out of this parallel session we encourage you to read through and reflect how the applications below impact your business. Make sure to note down your talking points to bring to the Summit discussion.

Delivery projects

Common for all working with long-term & complex delivery projects, whether you are a production manager, production planner, purchaser, sales support, CFO, project manager or KAM, we believe you will benefit from a simple way of unlocking operational precision for enhanced progress control. This is possible in our centralized hub for delivery project tracking, the Delivery Project (PRO) tool.

We know that PRO is predominantly utilized by users in production companies. However, it's crucial to identify why and elaborate on the intended purpose for leveraging this tool.

Delivery Project serves as a centralized hub for tracking long-term and complex delivery projects, providing a simple solution to unlock operational precision for enhanced progress control.

Job order management

As an operator, you want to report the execution of work in the simplest possible way, be it reporting hours, recording expenses or material consumption. As a back office representative, you want access to good tools to perform estimation, purchasing, material availability and, not least, accurate and streamlined invoicing. By using Project Order (POD) for job order management, reporting material consumption, delivering manual time sheets and reporting progress on paper is no more. As a result, you also don't have to run after the operator in desperation to get documentation of the work done.

We know that POD is utilized by users in several different business types to handle several different processes.

However, taking into consideration that the POD is a solution that allows one to sell and invoice short-term jobs and services, low on complexity, is there any low-hanging fruits to enhance & why?

Manufacturing, Job Order Management and Financial projects

RamBase does not currently have full project management capabilities that supports project accounting, project structure with sub-projects, resource planning, progress billing, accrued/deferred revenue, account of expenses and hours. However, RamBase has several solutions that support project-based work such as delivery projects, job order management or financial projects.
