What happens when having the right system still isn’t enough? At Blu Electro, the journey toward better quality wasn’t about a lack of knowledge or commitment, it was about time, capacity, and turning theory into action. Their implementation of RamBase Quality Management System became a true turning point: not just in how they manage quality, but in how they work, think, and improve every day.
They thought they could do it all themselves. They were wrong
When Blu Electro set out to improve their quality systems, they began by implementing RamBase Quality Management System (QMS) on their own. But it didn’t take long before the limitations of that approach became clear.
“We just dumped 200 procedures into the system, and we were very happy. Then we realized, that’s not the same as using it,” says Terje Egeland, CEO, Blu Electro.
For Blu Electro, the challenge wasn’t motivation or know-how, it was time.
“We thought we had the capacity to do it all internally,” says Egeland. “We were totally wrong. It wasn’t that our people didn’t know what to do, or didn’t want to do it, we just didn’t have the time. That was the real challenge.”
Like many growing companies, Blu Electro assumed they could manage implementation on their own. But once the system was in place, they realized that turning procedures into living processes takes more than documentation. It takes structure, experience and support.
A turning point: asking for help
After the initial implementation, Blu Electro realized they weren’t getting the value they needed from the system. That’s when they brought in support, not to replace the system, but to help them use it right. They teamed up with RamBase Business Advisory consultant Theoline Undheim, and that made all the difference.
The collaboration with Theoline has been fantastic. She makes the difficult easy, turning this procedure into a process. If you're not used to it, it feels very difficult. Theoline made it manageable," says Egeland.
The implementation became a turning point, not just in how the company manages its procedures, but in how they approach improvement as a mindset.

From systems to real improvement
Looking ahead, Blu Electro sees RamBase QMS as a vital part of their ongoing efforts to stay competitive and continuously improve:
"Blu Electro needs to improve every day. Every day we need to be better that yesterday. Becuase we want to and need to be ahead of our competitors in whatever we do. To do that, we plan to use RamBase to help us make this improvement through the reporting system, by continually updating the processes and needed procedures. RamBase will be verry, verry important in this work", says Egeland.
